Named after an important 18th century wilderness road running Natchez to Nashville, the Natchez Trace State Park encloses over 10,000 acres of land including lakes totaling more than 1,000 acres in size. Overnight guests have a number of options including camping at one of three campgrounds, renting one of 27 cabins or staying at the Pin Oak Lodge. Daytime activities include boating, fishing, guided horseback rides, hiking on more than 13 miles of trails, or participating in any number of sports with dedicated areas and fields. It is located in a larger state forest area, a few miles northeast of Lexington.
